The Cecilia Rawlins Fund (CRF) was established to honor esteemed principal Cecilia Rawlins, who retired in 2007 after 15 years at the helm of Wiley International Magnet Elementary School in Raleigh, North Carolina. Ms. Rawlins selflessly assisted families in need throughout her career and believed in nurturing the whole child. This fund is to ensure her commitment to our children and families continues at Wiley.
CRF provides funding for the Backpack Buddies program - in partnership with Inter-Faith Food Shuttle - so that during the school year, weekly backpacks filled with balanced meals are sent home to students and their families who are at risk of hunger every Friday.
Since 2007, CRF has evolved to provide limited financial assistance to Wiley Elementary School families in need, like one-time rental assistance, utility bill payment, gas cards, summer meals, and assistance moving from homelessness to permanent housing.
Through giving support and partnerships in the local community, CRF has been able to grow with the expanding needs of our students and families at Wiley.
